A modern take on a traditional bathroom layout
We recently undertook the refit of a family suite bathroom based in Burnopfield, Gateshead.
Initially, the bathroom appeared bland with tiling and sanitaryware that was outdated. The client was looking to refresh the walls and flooring to elevate the space while keeping the same format. Our design team discussed a range of budget-friendly tiles available which would help them achieve the look they were going for. We also advised the client on slip-resistant and easy-to-clean flooring options to prevent water damage, which had been an issue for the client in the past.
The project involved:
- Removing the existing bathroom sanitaryware
- Plastering and skimming the entire room (walls and ceiling)
- Replacing existing floorboards which were water damaged
- Tiling the shower and bathroom area
- Fitting new bathroom sanitaryware and furniture
- Installing new water-resistant flooring
- Fitting a modern bath panel
- Installing new door
An unforeseen challenge in this particular project materialised during the removal stage; whilst prising the tiles from the bathroom and shower area, the old plasterboard was damaged and therefore required removal. We reboarded and skimmed the entire wall to ensure a smooth base for the new tiles. At Hollinside, we are proud to provide quotes with no hidden costs, so you will never have to deal with unexpected charges after the work is finished. We hold true to this pledge even during unforeseen circumstances like this.
We used quality tiles and flooring during this project and completed the refit to the highest standard.
We are over the moon with the work the Hollinside team have carried out for us. Our kitchen is everything we dreamed it would be, and so much more. We couldn’t recommend these guys enough!
